Medical: Our Medical Director examines each
patient to determine the source of the
problem then forms a treatment plan tailored
to your needs.
Chiropractic: Chiropractic physicians help
restore structural integrity and function by
focusing on the neuro-musculo-skeletal
issues affecting patients.
Acupuncture: Our Chinese acupuncturist
focuses on pain reduction and aiding the
body in correcting internal imbalances that
affect your health.
Physical Therapy: Trained personnel guide
you through physician supervised physical
rehabilitation.
Myo-therapy: Specially trained rehab
therapists utilize a wide variety of
techniques to get to the source of chronic

Providers:
Marcono Hines, M.D. is
Nova’s medical director. With a degree in
Family Practice and a keen interest in chronic
pain issues, he brings years of experience to
the people of New Bern. Dr. Hines received his
medical degree from the UNC in Chapel Hill.
Born in Kinston, N.C., he has always called
eastern North Carolina his home. Dr. Hines is a
member of the American Academy of Pain
Management and firmly believes in the benefits
of blended healthcare for chronic pain.
David
Donnelly, D.C.
is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West
in Hayward, CA. He is a licensed chiropractor in
N. Carolina and Washington state. A member of
the American Academy of Pain Management, Dr.
Donnelly has concentrated his work in helping
people with acute and chronic pain. Dave uses
the most up-to-date gentle techniques available.
Toni
Rittenberg, L.Ac., M.D.(China)
has dedicated her life to medicine in both the
western and eastern disciplines. Born in
Beijing, China, she began studying acupuncture at
age 11. She holds a doctorate in western
medicine and a Masters in Oriental Medicine.
Toni completed her post-doctorate work at
Harvard University and has been a resident of
New Bern for over ten years.
Rhonda Gunderson, OTR/L
Rhonda has over 15 years experience as an
Occupational Therapist having worked in a
variety of health care settings. Prior to
joining Nova, she was an Occupational
Therapy Supervisor for Los Angeles County
for seven years. Rhonda enjoys the challenge
and rewards of working closely with the
chronic pain patient and brings many new and
creative ideas to Nova Pain Management.
Rhonda and her husband are excited to now
call New Bern their home.
